The following article details Hosting Australia's official network policy regarding PHP versions and customer control.
The following versions of PHP are now considered deprecated and will shortly (or have been) be removed from the servers.
PHP v 5.3 5.4 5.5 5.6 (deprecated)
PHP v 7.0 7.1 7.2 7.3 7.4 8.0(currently supported)
If your website uses versions other than those currently supported please consider upgrading ASAP to avoid disruption to services.
The servers currently default to PHP 5.6 on new accounts and employ PHP-FPM for accelerated hosting.
It is Hosting Australia's recommendation that users use PHP v7+. There are a number of speed and memory advantages to this version compared with v5.6
Adjustments to the PHP version and environment can be made using the following tools available in cpanel.
- MutiPHP Manager - select PHP versions.
- MultiPHP Ini Editor - adjust PHP environement variables.
If you need to update your PHP version, please follow our guide Change PHP Version.
