Cron jobs Print

  • 2

Cron jobs allow you to automate certain commands or scripts on your site. You can set a command or script to run at a specific time every day, week, etc. For example, you could set a Cron job to delete temporary files every week to free up disk space.

Setting up Cron Jobs Via cPanel

To do this, follow the below steps:

First, you will need to have access to your cPanel. If you are not sure how to access your cPanel, CLICK HERE.

  1. From the main page in cPanel, click on the Cron Jobs link. This can be found under the Advanced header.

º This will take you to a page asking for your experience level. Select Standard.

  2. Enter the Email address you wish to receive the results of the job.

  3. Select the Common Settings (This allows you to choose, how often you wish to run the job)

º The Cron Job example below is set to backup the cPanel at 6:05 am every Tuesday once running the job.
º Add New Cron Job to schedule the Cron Job

Using this method, you can create as many Cron jobs as you wish, being mindful that Cron jobs have the potential to take up a lot of server resources.
