Subdomains Print

  • 0

A subdomain will give you a page such as dev.example.com, or finances.example.com.

Subdomains are great for development sites, as it means you can create an entirely independent site under the subdomain folder, whilst leaving your current site activity.

These pages can also be accessed by typing in example.com/newsletter or example.com/finances.

Creating Subdomains Via cPanel

To do this, follow the below steps:

First, you will need to have access to your cPanel. If you are not sure how to access your cPanel, CLICK HERE.

  1. From the main page in cPanel, click the Subdomains link. This can be found under the Domains heading.

  2. Enter the prefix for the Subdomain, then click the Create button.

º You may also remove and manage redirects of the subdomain.

This will create the subdomain for you, as well as a folder, which can be used to build a new/separate website.

This folder will have the same name as the prefix and will be where you upload files for this subdomain.

Please note: Package allowances will limit how many subdomains you are able to create.
