Before You Begin:

Backup Your Website
Before updating any plugin, it’s essential to back up your WordPress site. This ensures that you can restore your website to its previous state if anything goes wrong during the update process.

Steps to Update WordPress Plugins

Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin, replacing 'yourwebsite.com' with the domain name of your website.
  2. Enter your username and password, then click "Log In."

Step 2: Go to the Plugins Page

  1. On the menu on left-hand side of the dashboard, find and click on Plugins.
  2. This will take you to the Installed Plugins page, where you can see a list of all the plugins installed on your site.

Step 3: Check for Available Updates

  1. If there are any updates available, you will see a notification under each plugin that needs updating, along with a link that says "Update Now."
  2. You can update plugins individually or all at once, see below.

Step 4: Update Plugins Individually

  1. Click the Update Now link below the plugin you wish to update.
  2. WordPress will automatically download, install, and activate the latest version of the plugin.

Step 5: Update All Plugins at Once (Optional)

  1. To update all plugins at once, check the box at the top left of the plugin list to select all plugins with available updates.
  2. In the dropdown menu labeled "Bulk Actions," select Update.
  3. Click Apply.

Step 6: Verify the Updates

After the updates are complete, it’s important to verify that your site is working correctly.
Visit your site’s front end to ensure everything is functioning as expected.
